THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
I just came out last year and I donít know what to do.

I just came out last year and I donít know what to do. I canít approach the girl without feeling awkward. What should I do? How to I approach and ask her?

MISTRESS MAYHEM SAY
Coming out of the closet is already a brave big step, and Iím sitting here wondering where has all that courage gone. Wobbly legs or shivering hands, the best way is to just go up to her and talk for devilís sake. You can try getting her number from her friends, if you know them, and text her till the cows come home. If youíre meeting her in a club, shoot up a couple of tequila to fight that cowardice and sneak up beside her while sheís dancing. Buy her more drinks and you might just get really lucky.

VIRGIN MARIE SAY
Oh honey, there's always a first time for everything. The key to approaching this girl, or any girl for that matter, is to get over your fear of rejection and awkwardness. Understand that acceptance and rejection is part and parcel of the dating process, and many factors such as chemistry and timing also play a part. I.e.: don't take anything that happens as a personal indication of your attractiveness. Once you've gotten over this fear of the unknown, you'll find that itís easier to just-take-a-deep-breath-and-go-up-to-her-and-talk-goddamnit. No more excuses please, and remember to let Aunt Virgin know how you succeeded.
